In this short course, you're going to learn some quick and simple tips for effective public speaking. You'll discover the different routes of communication you can take to engage your audience, why keeping it simple is so important, and how to calm even the worst nerves so you can present more effectively. What is covered in this Effective Public Speaking course?

Our online Effective Public Speaking training course is broken down into the following sections and can be completed at your own pace. The course includes:

Module What it includes
Different Types of Communication The most effective public speakers focus on one big idea and have a clear goal: something they want their audience to think, feel or do. This section explores the four ways of communication so that your audience gets from A to B and reach your final desired result.
Keeping it Simple

This section focuses on keeping it simple, as we explore 3 tips to bare in mind when preparing for your presentation. We talk about stretching your ability to simplify and give you a rapid exercise to help you realise the big idea in a simple way.

What Gets in the Way of Public Speaking?

In this section, we look at the wide range of factors that can impact your ability to speak publicly. We look at security blankets, things we do for comfort and we give you tips and techniques to help you over the initial nerves when giving a presentation or speaking in front of an audience.

Extension Task By this section, you'll have covered a lot of material. To really get to grips with what it all means, this quiz will put you to the test. Based on what you have discovered during this short course, we ask if you will be able to help our virtual public speaker make his presentation the best it can be
