The course will explore team models and team leadership and look at achieving win-win situations. Applying the right skills in the right situations helps build, develop and maintain excellent collaborative working relationships.
Case studies of successful teams are provided as examples. What is the definition of a successful team – what does it look like?
The module describes five types of team and provides the key characteristics of each one followed by Tuckman’s four stage model of team development.
Key roles within a team are explored and team management methods include: using emotional intelligence and six leadership styles. Other methods include Myers-Briggs Type Indicators, personality types etc. Finally a case study illustrates the use of emotional intelligence.
