Business development strategies are reviewed and their role in operational planning. Eight tools to support business development are reviewed including SWOT and PEST analysis, the Boston matrix and Maturity models.
The course investigates continuous improvement and how it can be supported with the various tools and techniques described including three key approaches to bring it about: Root Cause Analysis; Plan, Do, Check, Act Cycle; and Kaizen.
The course continues by describing four key methodologies to bring about continuous improvement: CIP, TQM, Lean and Six Sigma.
