Anyone working with vulnerable adults needs to have an understanding of self-neglect and the complex issues that can impact a persons ability to make decisions.

This training will look at how to balance addressing the issue of self-neglect with an individual’s right to private life and health and how to make safe decisions.

Self-neglect is a problem in itself and can often be a symptom of other underlying problems. This course will enable you to identify it and react appropriately.

Self-neglect is difficult to detect due to its multi-dimensional character; it is a complex combination of physical, mental, psychological, social and environmental causes. Being able to spot the signs and symptoms of self-neglect is crucial for anyone who works with vulnerable adults.
