The course begins with a definition of decision making and explores the impact of good and bad decisions.
The seven steps to successful decision making are described and the module explores several tools and techniques for decision making. These are: T-chart, decision tree and a decision matrix. Examples are provided of these different techniques.
The course also describes three different types of decision: team, financial and formal and techniques to deal with these such as: multi-voting, cost-benefit analysis, Pareto analysis, SWOT and PEST analysis.
Finally, the module concludes with the effects poor decisions can have on a project or business.
This module is aimed at project managers, leaders and professionals who will need to make business critical decisions as well as day-to-day choices as part of their role.
