Understanding project governance will help you gain control over your project’s direction and keep things on track. As you work through this course, you’ll develop the skills to define your team’s structure and establish clear communication strategies – tools that will set you up for success in any project you manage.
Project governance is a crucial part of project management to ensure success of the tasks you are working on. It is a framework of rules, roles and processes which hold a project accountable, direct and control it.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, you'll be able to:
- Identify the key people in your project team (like the project manager, sponsor, and others), and discover the remit of their roles
- List the five stages of risk management and practise applying them to keep your projects running smoothly
- Identify the traits of clear communication that help flag potential problems and build trust with stakeholders when risks and changes arise
- Measure your reaction to change, practise responding constructively to unplanned risks, and view change as an opportunity for growth

The roles within a project team are like the parts of a well-oiled machine – working together, they help everything run smoothly. The course starts by diving into the roles of the key players in a project team, using a simple, relatable scenario. Also included in the opening section are interactive challenges to boost your knowledge.
Certification
Upon completion of any of our courses, learners will be able to download a digital certificate from Virtual College which will include the accrediting bodies logo where applicable, the learner's name, the title of the course and the date of completion.
If you have purchased the posted certificate option, available on selected courses, a high quality, seal embossed, certificate will be sent out by Royal Mail delivery.
